Ways of acquiring Permanent Residence Status (PRS):
- By acquiring property under the Integrated Resort Scheme. The PRS is valid as long as the acquirer owns the property;
- By being a retired non-citizen who has maintained an annual transfer of at least US$ 40,000 or its equivalent in convertible foreign currency over a period of 3 years during which the non-citizen will have a residence permit. Application for a permanent residence permit can be made and the permit is valid for 10 years;
- By being an investor who has achieved a minimum of Rs 15 m turnover over a period of 3 years. The PRS is valid for 10 years (renewable – conditions apply);
- By being a self employed with an annual income of Rs 3 m. The PRS is valid for 10 years (renewable – conditions apply); and
- By being a professional with a monthly basic salary of Rs 150,000. The PRS is valid for 10 years (renewable – conditions apply).
