Following the presentation of the National Budget Speech by The Honourable Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, Prime Minister, Minister of Finance and Economic Development on the 10th of June 2019, key budgetary measures have been put forward to transform the Mauritian Financial Services Sector and the ease of doing business in the country along side with catering to be an innovation driven economy of the African Continent. 

Numerous legislative amendments touching key areas such as taxation have been introduced by the Finance (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act (the “Finance Act”), that came into force as on 25 July 2019, to give legal force and effect to the announced budgetary measures aiming to  modernise the Financial Services Sector whilst keeping abreast with international norms and best practices.
