Money Laundering and Combatting the Financing of Terrorism (Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill
2020 would be introduced to the National Assembly by the Minister of Financial Services and
Good Governance. In particular, the Government highlighted that the Bill would amend various
enactments in view of furthering fundamental reforms in the financial services sector, thereby
ensuring closer compliance with recommended international best practices and norms of the
Financial Action Task Force (‘FATF’). Accordingly, these measures aim to reinforce the existing
legal provisions to further combat money laundering and the financing of terrorism.
